Dr. Fairbanks is an associate professor in the department of natural resource ecology and management at Iowa State University. She received her bachelor's degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University, her master's degree in wildlife biology from Colorado State University and her Ph.D. in systematics and ecology from the University of Kansas.
